2019 North American Cannabis Summit Call for Proposals is Open - Submissions will be accepted through September 14, 2018

The 2019 North American Cannabis Summit is an objective forum to address public health, science, and health equity in this time of expanding cannabis legalization and decriminalization across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. The 2019 Summit will take place January 28–30, 2019, at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles.

The call for proposals for the 2019 Summit is now open through September 14, 2018.

The 2019 Summit seeks a variety of perspectives across the many entities affected by rapidly changing laws and attitudes about cannabis across North America. Professionals in research, policy, public health, public safety, or regulation are invited to submit abstracts to share experience and ideas as well as compelling data about how changing cannabis policy has affected the field. Under the overarching themes of public health, health disparities, and health equity in policy and practice, as well as continuing the focus on the science of cannabis and best practices in governance, the 2019 Summit will offer six tracks:
-Public safety
-Prevention and education
-Emerging research and epidemiological data
-Governance, federal law, and emerging policy
-Health effects
-Regulatory issues

Proposals should appeal to the expected attendees, which will include state and local policy representatives (local, jurisdictional, tribal, or federal), as well as research, prevention, treatment, and regulatory professionals charged with the oversight of medical and/or adult-use cannabis markets or programs.

The preliminary agenda is now available, as are the proceedings from the 2017 National Cannabis Summit. An early-bird registration fee is available to anyone who registers for the 2019 North American Cannabis Summit by August 31, 2018.
