Citral is an aroma chemical widely used in the flavor and fragrance industry. The chemical name of citral is 3,7-dimethyl-2,6-octadienal. The European Chemicals Agency also has citral under the harmonized classification and labelling (CLP00) as citral can cause skin irritation and may cause an allergic reaction on the skin.
