XClinical embarks on cooperation with Stryker Osteosynthesis

XClinical GmbH embarks on cooperation with Stryker Osteosynthesis, a subsidiary of the Stryker Corporation

XCLINICAL GMBH, Munich, Germany – 25 FEB 2010 – XClinical, a European vendor of software products for eClinical trials known for its innovative and user-friendly CDISC ODM-certified EDC software suite MARVIN, announced today that Stryker Osteosynthesis, a subsidiary of the Stryker corporation, has decided to use XClinical’s EDC Software MARVIN.

Stryker is set to soon start using the software solution in an International Multicentre Post-Market Follow-Up Evaluation. Five hundred patients will be enrolled in the study, which will be conducted throughout several European countries including Spain, Norway and Belgium. The overall duration including preparation and closeout periods is estimated to run for five years from the “first patient/first visit” to “last patient/last visit”. A second project to be conducted with MARVIN is already being planned. “It’s the first time we’re using EDC at Stryker Osteosynthesis,” said Nils Reimers, Manager Clinical Research at Stryker Global Medical Sciences. “We decided on XClinical’s MARVIN for several reasons. We were impressed by the system’s user friendliness and the intuitive use. The prompt query management which simplifies and smoothes the investigator’s workflow also convinced us of XClinical’s system.”

Initial contact between XClinical and Stryker Osteosynthesis was made in November 2008. XClinical not only provided the system, but also supported Stryker in the introduction of EDC to its internal processes. “We see ourselves not only as a software vendor, but also as a service provider,” said Dr Claus Lindenau, Head of Business Development at XClinical. “The introduction of an EDC system implicates lots of changes in internal processes. Up to now we have gathered over eight years of experience with Electronic Data Capture and related issues, and are happy to pass this knowledge on to others.”

With Stryker Osteosynthesis, XClinical adds another global manufacturer of medical devices to its portfolio of MedTech clients. Comprehensive knowledge and experience in this area strengthen XClinical’s position as a professional partner not only for pharmaceutical companies, but for MedTech companies as well.
