Eagle Coach Unveils New Lincoln MKT Prototype Vehicle

Amelia, OH – December 9, 2010 – Eagle Coach Company has unveiled their newest and most progressive prototype funeral coach – the 2011 Lincoln MKT. The luxury hearse is modeled after the new Lincoln MKT crossover and will eventually replace Eagle’s Lincoln Town Car funeral coach and limo models.

The 2011 Eagle Lincoln MKT prototype was unveiled at the National Funeral Directors Association Convention in New Orleans. The vehicle features a very sleek, modern exterior styling with enhanced interior features, including a solid-surface floor, integrated urn enclave and a large skylight. The rear loading door is modeled almost exactly to that of the original MKT.

In July of 2010, Lincoln approached all of the major funeral coach builders in the industry and presented them with an opportunity to build a funeral coach using the MKT as a model. Eagle Coach jumped at the offer, immediately starting preliminary drawings and designs. In just eight weeks, Eagle’s team of engineers, fabricators and detailers built the vehicle from the ground up.

“Our team put in long, tedious hours to make this vehicle a reality,” Fred Wolfinger, Brand Sales Manager at Eagle Coach said. “There is definitely a demand for a newer, more progressive styling. We are incredibly excited about how this prototype is inspiring innovation in the industry.”

While the prototype has already sparked significant accolades, Wolfinger says there is still work to do. “We are perfecting and enhancing some aesthetic features at this point,” he explained. “After a few adjustments to the cosmetic details, this vehicle will be absolutely stunning in every way –form, functionality and style.”

As soon as Ford finalizes the release of the MKT funeral coach chassis, Eagle will begin accepting orders for the new MKT funeral coach. Eagle will be offering both Town Car and MKT models in 2011.
