Stevens-Henager College Introduces New Accounting Program with Emphasis in Forensic Accounting

Salt Lake City, Utah, March 16, 2011 - Stevens-Henager College has announced the introduction of a new Bachelor of Science in Accounting program with an emphasis in Forensic Accounting. This new accounting program is available online through Stevens-Henager College Murray, and at all campus and satellite locations of Stevens-Henager College.

Forensic accounting is an exciting field that involves the application of accounting, auditing, and investigative skills to uncover financial fraud. Consequently, a forensic accountant requires in-depth knowledge of accounting concepts, should be adept at detecting fraud, and needs to be familiar with the legal system.

The newly designed accounting program seeks to train graduates in the aspects of professional forensic accounting and fraud examination through a combination of relevant courses. Courses cover topics ranging from Intermediate and Advanced Accounting, to Legal Elements of Fraud, to Corporate Governance and Internal Control. Since communication is such an important part of the accounting profession, the program’s curriculum also includes courses in English Composition, Writing, and Communication Arts.
