Stevens-Henager College Now Offers Computer Science Degrees with Networking and Programming Emphases
Salt Lake City, Utah, March 16, 2011 - Stevens-Henager College has just introduced two revamped versions of its Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. The announcement comes just days after the college announced a new Accounting degree with an emphasis in Forensic Accounting.The two new Computer Science degrees at Stevens-Henager College include emphases in Networking and Programming, and are intended to help provide a clear career path for students.
The Computer Science degree with an emphasis in Networking is designed to train students in concepts such as security, network communication, advanced server administration, Linux systems, and more. The program covers 49 courses, for a total of 180 credits, and qualifies students for a variety of entry- to mid-level networking jobs.
The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a Programming emphasis seeks to develop the coding skills of graduates. The focus of this degree is to teach students complex programming languages such as C, C++, Java, and HTML. The courses covered in this program will train students in designing, writing, testing, and maintaining code, and are designed to prepare them for a wide range of roles such as software engineer, web developer, programmer, and more.
Recognizing the importance of communication proficiency and business knowledge in an IT professional’s career growth, Stevens-Henager College has also made courses like English Composition, Communication Arts, Management Principles, and Economics part of its Computer Science degrees.
The length of both programs with emphases is 36 months, but students have the option of finishing their degree in less than a normal completion time, through its flexible schedule option.
The eligibility criteria are the same for both emphases: a high school diploma or an equivalent G.E.D. credential. The programs are available at all Stevens-Henager College campuses and satellite locations, as well as online through Stevens-Henager College Salt Lake City/Murray. Interested candidates can schedule a personal visit to the campus of their choice and meet with college representatives to start the enrollment process.
