OC Designer Source presents the Breathtaking Organic Masterpieces Of Marsha Tudor

OC Designer Source and TKOart are please to present: an Artist Reception in honor of Marsha Tudor in Newport Beach, CA on Tuesday, March 29, 2011. Display and reception are open to the public and Tudor’s naturally, holistic, scannography images will be on display through May 20, 2011.

Organic images grow from an “other-worldly” garden, each explored in microscopic detail as Marsha Tudor pushes the boundaries of her medium using transparency and superb layering to create lush and dramatically luminescent images.

Flowers, seedpods, leaves, fruit, vegetables and the digital technology of a flatbed scanner are the makeup of Tudor’s palette. A slowly exposed petal reveals itself as light reflects from or passes through its delicate surfaces. Hidden views not otherwise available come to life with the high-resolution process.

Enticing titles such as: “Apricot Delight”, “Nerium Explosion” and “Moonlight Cyclamen” only hint at the delicacy and translucency of Tudor’s work. Dramatic black backgrounds focus attention on exquisitely rendered surfaces. Stark white backgrounds provide illumination for transparency and shadow.

Using a technique referred to as Scannography or Scanner Photography, Tudor meticulously scans, rearranges and scans again, cleaning the glass each time. Once satisfied, she begins the slow, meticulous process of fixing flaws, repairing tears or spots and cleaning up dust and specks.

Tudor then spends hours exploring translucency, layering and inversions to create just the right atmospheric feeling. Her imagery has been referred to as “mysterious and sensual” by her fans.
