How to become Teachers of Italian as a Foreign Language

03-29-2011 06:06 PM CET | Science & Education

Press release from: Scuola Leonardo da Vinci

Teaching a foreign language is a very stimulating and interesting experience.

Those who are working in that sector know from personal experience how difficult it could be to be the link between the students and their culture and the culture of the language which is object of the teaching.

It becomes even more complex when the activity is exported abroad and the teacher is sharing the same culture and habits as the students.

Also we should not forget that sometimes the will to learn the language is because of the love with the country and its culture and the motivation is different than an eventual professional improvement.

All this should be enough to explain what level of qualification is needed to teach Italian to foreigners outside the natural borders of the language. Above all this difficult task is possible only if there is constant and continuous skill improvement of the teachers.

The course of Scuola Leonardo da Vinci for teachers of Italian language - http://www.scuolaleonardo.com/Italian-language-special-courses/Italian-language-corso-insegnanti.html - for foreigners has its main objective to form new didactical instruments and motivations (ideas, materials, techniques) which the teacher can add to his arsenal.

Apart from the practical applications there is a huge part which focuses on the theoretical developments, in particular those that are referring to the Centre DITALS, University for foreigners, Siena (www.unistrasi.it).

The courses for teachers of Italian language - http://www.scuolaleonardo.com/Italian-language-special-courses/Italian-language-corso-insegnanti.html - for foreigners organized by Scuola Leonardo da Vinci are intensive and structured in 2 week cycles. The dates for 2010 are :

Florence: 4th - 15th April, 6th – 17th June, 3rd - 14th October
Rome: 16th - 27th May, 4th – 15th July, 17th – 28th October
Milan: 17th - 28th January, 9th – 20th May, 17th – 28th October.

Such courses are recognized by the Socrates/Comenius.
