Shanghai, China, March 28, 2007 – Bayer Technology & Engineering (Shanghai) – BTES – and Werum Software & Systems, Germany, have signed a framework contract to fix the cooperation for the introduction of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) PAS-X to the China pharmaceutical market. Due to the contract BTES will be the exclusive representative for the Werum MES PAS-X in China.

With more than 380 installations worldwide, Werum’s PAS-X is one of the world’s leading software products for production management in pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical manufacturing.

PAS-X covers the entire range of manufacturing processes; primary and secondary production as well as clinical trials operations. It offers an integrated software solution that streamlines manufacturing processes and assures regulatory compliance within a GMP and FDA 21 CFR part 11-regulated production and packaging environment. Some of the key functions in the system are: weighing and dispensing, electronic batch recording, production scheduling, and warehouse management.

As China is carrying out Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) resolutely in the years to come, the numerous Chinese pharmaceutical plants will benefit from this system and from the local expertise of BTES-Team, by dramatically shorten the products inspection time from more than one week to only two days, and thus improve the production efficiency and cut the logistics costs, and in addition, to reinforce their quality management.
