Animated Video about Human Rights

“All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.” This is what it says in the very first Article of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The idea of Human Rights is one of the most important fundaments of human co-existence. At the same time human rights are subject to fierce debates and Human Rights violations are common all over the world.

But what exactly are Human Rights? Who is responsible for protecting them? And do they really apply to all people? These are the question the newest animated Video clip in the WissensWerte series deals with. Please watch the video on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbul3hxYGNU

As part of the successful project “WissensWerte”, the german non-profit organisation /e-politik.de/ produces, publishes and distributes a series of animated clips for political education. /e-politik.de/ e.V. cooperates closely with edeos (www.edeos.org) , an agency specialized in producing and distributing web-based knowledge content.
In about five to seven minutes, they provide information about a limited political issue. Technically state of the art and didactically elaborated, the clips offer an exciting way to learn about politics.

The Human Rights clip is the first one translated into english language. So far, clips on the topics of United Nations, Islamism, World Trade, Globalization and the German Democratic Republic have been published in german language. English versions of these clips are sheduled for the near future.
