The Fork is becoming The New Fork

Amsterdam - With the start of the new year, we've entered a new decennium. For The Fork 2020 is the start of a new era, on January 20th The Fork became The New Fork.

The Fork achieved many successes in the last two plus years. One of those successes is the start of StrikeTwo, where the whole agrifood sector comes together to create roadmaps for using new technologies to work on existing challenges in agrifood.



Firsts

As the first mover in the space of blockchain for agrifood. The Fork was part of many firsts. The Fork contributed to the first research on blockchain for agrifood with Wageningen University and Research and TNO, which lead to the report 'Blockchain for agriculture and food; Findings from the pilot study'.

The Fork also created the first event on blockchain for agrifood, the Food Integrity Blockchained meetup, which organised monthly events with different blockchain for agrifood use cases for more than two years straight. De meetup group rapidly expanded to over 1850 members.

Lastly, The Fork was part of the first commercial blockchain for agrifood implementation with Albert Heijn, Refresco and SIM, which follows the journey of orange juice.



Spearheading radical transparency

Marieke de Ruyter de Wildt, CEO and founder of The Fork (and The New Fork) sees the success of StrikeTwo as exemplary of a change that's currently happening in the agrifood sector. The agrifood sector is showing an interest in improving their processes, managing risks and increasing sustainability. More and more the agrifood sector discovers blockchain and other new technologies can be used as tools for improving the agrifood supply chain.

The New Fork wants to accelerate the use of new technologies in agrifood. The New, that newly entered the name, is referring to the new technologies that The New Fork implements in agrifood. To the new ways of working that The New Fork uses to guides their clients towards change, towards a new, more integer foodsystem. Or as Marieke de Ruyter de Wildt says: "The New Fork will take the lead in spearheading the change towards radical transparency."



Looking ahead

The New Fork is taking the successes of The Fork and moving forward. The name change on January 20th is a symbol of a bigger change. Firstly, The New Fork is happy to announce the new partners that will help her journey towards achieving global food integrity.

New products

Secondly, The New Fork is launching new products: Masterclass blockchain for agrifood, The New Fork Lab and Blockchain audits.

The Masterclass is a training on blockchain for agrifood. The New Fork introduces individuals to new technologies that have the biggest potential to improve relationships across the supply chain.

With The New Fork Lab, The New Fork helps make sense of new technologies. The New Fork collaborates with business teams to identify pain points, define if and how new technologies address these. In order to build execution plans to help agrifood companies grow quickly and sustainably.

Audits are a way in which The New Fork helps improve existing solutions. The New Fork's team of experts checks how blockchain solutions are performing on 10 points from scalability to ethics and gives an advice on how to improve.

Of course, the new products won't take away the focus The New Fork has on creating blockchain solutions. The New Fork wants to keep profiling itself as a market leader on public blockchain solutions. By creating blockchain solutions The New Fork can help make the food supply chain more transparent and achieve food integrity.
