Stevens-Henager College Introduces Two New Graduate Degrees in Information Technology

Salt Lake City, Utah, Nov.10, 2011 - Stevens-Henager College (SHC) has made yet another addition to its lineup of graduate programs by introducing two new degrees in information technology.

The new additions to Stevens-Henager College’s current repertoire of master’s programs are:

• Master of Science in Healthcare Informatics
• Master of Science in Information Systems

The Master of Science in Healthcare Informatics is aimed at grooming professionals for the important task of managing and maintaining patient records in a healthcare environment. The program is designed to help graduates become proficient in the use of information technology to improve the healthcare information system and ensure its smooth delivery at all times.

As part of their coursework, students will be required to demonstrate the skills they have gained through the program by presenting a professional-quality project or thesis. The exercise is meant to test how well the students are able to apply their knowledge to real-world problem-solving.

The Master of Science in Information Systems, on the other hand, is a pure technology program that trains graduates in storing, organizing, retrieving, and analyzing information in a variety of settings.

But in addition to technical skills, the effective management of information systems in an organization also requires professionals to have deep business intelligence. Stevens-Henager College’s Master of Science in Information Systems is structured to sharpen the analytical skills and business acumen of graduates to give them that skill and prepare them for these roles.

Both of these master’s degree programs are 15 months long and help qualify graduates to pursue executive positions in an organization.

The degrees can be completed online or at the Salt Lake City/Murray campus of Stevens-Henager College. Candidates who have a high school diploma (or an equivalent GED® credential) and have successfully graduated from a bachelor’s program are eligible to apply for these MS degrees.
