Press release from: User Centric, Inc.

Recent research on electronic health record (EHR) adoption has reported that among the top barriers to adoption, usability concerns equal those of security, privacy and system-integration. User Centric, a user experience research and design firm based in Chicago, is a thought leader in how to ensure EHRs are evaluated for usability. As part of a free webinar series, Managing Director Robert Schumacher, Ph.D., will present “Usability & Electronic Health Records” on Feb. 14 with a portion of the discussion covering the EHR Usability Protocol from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Schumacher is actively involved in designing and evaluating usability criteria for electronic health records through the HIMSS Usability Taskforce, professional societies, and commercial and non-profit organizations. Visit http://www.usercentric.com/webinars/usability-and-ehrs to register.

The free series, “We Believe Experiences Matter,” starts Feb. 2 and consists of 16 presentations throughout the year. User Centric Director Rick Omanson will present the first webinar “Heavily-Used Interfaces: Designing for Efficiency” on Feb. 2 at 12 p.m. CST. Space is still available and can be reserved by visiting http://www.usercentric.com/webinars.
