Teens for Equality through Music - Dark Eyes by Keegan Connor

Kids have a lot of questions and they are good ones! Kids do not understand why people of different races can not get along. How can we all see beyond the color of eyes and skin? Why wouldn’t, Black Lives Matter? Why are women not treated equally in the workforce and in sports? In her new teen pop song and music video “Dark Eyes,” 14-year-old Keegan Connor uses music as a message for equality. She says, “I grew up in New York City attending a school with kids of various ethnicities. As young kids, we just look for someone to play with - not based on what they look like. It does not matter where they live; they all have hopes and dreams.”

“Later, I began to realize kids with blue eyes were getting comments on how gorgeous their eyes were, and no one seemed to notice my dark eyes,” said Keegan. “That’s how my song, DARK EYES started blossoming into my message. As I continued with the lyrics, the song became more for all people with dark eyes. No matter how we appear to others, we’re more alike than we are different.” The message is for equality and that we all have light inside!

Keegan released her song this summer and now released her DARK EYES music video on her YouTube Channel, KeeganConnor. The song is available on Apple Music, iHeartRadio, Amazon Music, YouTube, and Spotify.

About Singer-Songwriter Keegan Connor

Keegan Connor has been singing and dancing since she was 3. She performs in musical theatre, is a two-time winner of CarmelFest, and has performed with Broadway actors. Keegan created her own nonprofit, https://KeeganCares.com that is focused on scoliosis awareness and raising funds for therapy dogs.
