CoSoSys Launches Endpoint Protector 4 Device Control Client for Linux Ubuntu and openSUSE
Endpoint Protector 4 is now also fighting USB and other portable device threats on Linux to protect company data against loss or theftCluj-Napoca, April 3, 2012. CoSoSys has launched the new Ubuntu and openSUSE desktop client versions for its device control and data loss prevention solution, Endpoint Protector 4. With the new versions, Endpoint Protector 4 is virtually platform independent, considerably simplifying its integration into organizations’ networks and offering cross platform control and detailed monitoring over the use of the latest portable storage devices on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux distributions Ubuntu and openSUSE.
The need for a cross platform device control and DLP solution emerged from the large variety of operating systems currently used by companies, universities or governmental institutions worldwide, which added a higher degree of efficiency and productivity, but at the same time increased their vulnerability when facing security threats such as data thefts or accidental data losses. Furthermore, organizations are either not using any device control or security technology for protecting their network Linux endpoints.
