EMS’ Innovative Simulation Technology Advances Education at University of South Florida’s New Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS)
(EXTON, PA, April 4, 2012) – Education Management Solutions (EMS) celebrated with the University of South Florida recently at its grand opening of the USF Health Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS) in downtown Tampa. The $38-million, 90,000 square foot building provides a wide-range of opportunities for technical and teamwork training, simulation, and competence assessment, as well as significant research and device innovation capability.“We are delighted to provide USF with leading-edge technology that will protect and preserve their existing investments, increase efficiency, and ensure a future growth path as their programs evolve and their requirements for managing CAMLS increase,” said Anurag Singh, President and CEO of EMS. “I believe that EMS' fully integrated clinical simulation management and digital recording solutions will enhance the excellent education that USF will provide by helping them utilize the latest technology that assists with clinical assessment, student portfolio management, and simulation center workflow automation.”
Dr. Stephen Klasko, CEO of USF Health and dean of the Morsani College of Medicine said at the ceremony, "Welcome to the revolution. We're going to transform healthcare ... CAMLS will become a brand identity built around quality and safety, not just in this country but around the world."
CAMLS has been billed as the largest facility of its kind in the world, a place where culturally-diverse learners ranging from undergraduates to seasoned professionals will enroll. It is anticipated that 30,000 people will come through the center every year, about a third from USF, and the rest will be students, doctors, and international medical equipment representatives.
