Press release
Flexibility of bluebee® X
bluebee® X enables companies operating physical assets in China’s tough business environment and fast-changing regulatory landscape to enforce Asset & Risk Management best practices from board room to field workers. The platform is designed to facilitate the implementation of the ISO 55000 Asset Management (or its Chinese equivalent GB/T 33172) and ISO 31000 Risk Management framework and to demonstrate compliance to the various stakeholders (owners, clients, regulators).
bluebee® X departs from traditional admin-driven management software to provide real support for plant technicians and managers, thus enabling decision support based on accurate data from the field. It is an Industry 4.0 or Smart platform that natively interacts with Mobile Users and Connected Objects.
User interface
bluebee® X is a purely web-based solution requiring only a web browser on end-user’s PC, thus simplifying administrative IT aspects of using the system (no “client” software on the PC).
bluebee® X provides an engaging user interface. Designed for O&M users, bluebee® X features a highly flexible friendly user interface, with screen and diagram editors allowing to customize screens layout, colors, data fields, vocabulary and more, without IT skills required.
bluebee® X visually integrates with 3D BIM (Building Information Models) and GIS (Geographical Information Systems) maps for easy end-users access.
Configurability
bluebee® X is highly configurable, not only in terms of user interface but also to manage new content types and new data fields.
The embedded configuration tools are used by the Siveco China implementation team during the initial project, but also by client terms to administer and continuously adjust the system to meet evolving needs. They allow users to:
- Adjust color schemes, company logo, etc.
- Create graphical diagrams for easy access to the system
- Add data fields as needed
- Link functional screens to users and roles
- Incorporate dashboards, KPIs, reports in the main user interface
In the same manner, workflows can be created, user rights defined and managed:
A true Industry 4.0 solution, bluebee® X can flexibly integrate with the existing IT infrastructure (SCADA, DCS, ERP, CMMS/EAM, BIM, GIS, etc.), communicating not only with state-of-the-art solutions or Internet of Things (IoT) technology, but also with legacy systems, thus avoiding their premature replacement. This will be the subject of another article in future.

The Future of Operation & Maintenance
Media hype has led us to believe that technology would soon revolutionize maintenance. Dreams of flying robots, video game-like smart glasses, flashing digital twins, often hold the sad promise of getting rid of maintenance people altogether. The reality remains that the more automated, the more sophisticated the systems, the more demands are put on maintenance people and their skills. The problem is compounded when this glorious technology did not address…
