Press release from: Brandspanking Media/HMRC

Branded content and podcast specialist, Brandspanking Media, www.brandspanking.co.uk has been commissioned to produce a new series of podcasts for the UK government tax office, HMRC(Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs) www.hmrc.gov.uk/podcasts

The new content follows a successful trial earlier in the year, that included HMRC’s Director-General (Business) Dave Hartnett, discussing how the department is trying to work better with tax agents. Another offered help and advice to employers in completing their Employers’ Annual Return.

HMRC is one of the first Government departments to launch podcasts, designed to make information on some of the most wide-ranging issues simple and accessible. The podcasts are between three and four minutes’ duration, offering advice, support and helpful hints in a conversational style.

For the next series, agents are being encouraged to email their questions for Dave Hartnett, which will be put to him in an interview in early August, that will answer some of the profession’s most frequently asked questions about Fresh Start.

Anne Shevas, Acting Director of Communications & Marketing at HMRC says “The launch of podcasts have demonstrated there’s a real appetite for the chance to hear directly from some of the UK’s most senior tax practitioners,” says

David Prever, MD of Brandspanking says, “It’s good to see that government are embracing new ways of communicating through the web. The first podcasts were hugely successful and we look forward to working with other departments too.”
