Dreamstime launches the "Cover of the Year 2021 in Romania" contest with prizes totaling 7,500 Euros.
Bucharest, September 15, 2021 - Dreamstime, the world’s largest stock photo community, together with Carturesti and PressOne, announces the launch of the "Cover of the Year 2021 in Romania" contest for book cover illustrations. Publishers or graphic artists who have published books with original covers throughout 2020 and 2021 are invited to participate. Participants can submit covers using stock media as well as those using exclusively original content.Dreamstime will award the winners both monetary prizes and free subscriptions that allow the licensing of images with an international lifetime license, including the right to use them as book covers in the future, with unlimited copies.
The agency will offer a special 3,000 Euro prize and three other prizes to the three most beautiful covers: First place - 2,000 euros, Second place - 1,500 euros, Third place - 1,000 euros.

A jury composed of the representatives of Dreamstime and its partners, participating publishing houses, and specialists in the field will vote for their favorite cover to award the best cover special prize. Dreamstime’s community will choose the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places by online voting. Anyone can vote by creating a free account on https://www.dreamstime.com/
Who can participate:
Publishers and individuals holding the right to sell the book and publish the cover can participate. Freelance designers and graphic designers who have created covers can participate individually, not on behalf of a publishing house, only if they have proper consent or have published independently.
How to participate:
On behalf of a publishing house or individually, each participant can enter a maximum of three already published book covers. Books can be from any domain, in Romanian and not only, provided they are published, in the first edition or re-published, in Romania, between January 1, 2020 - September 30, 2021. Participation is free of charge
Voting process:
The 3,000 Euro special prize will be awarded based on the votes of the specialized jury. Details about the jury here https://www.dreamstime.com/coperta-anului-juriu.
The jury will analyze the composition, colors, fonts chosen for the author, title and subtitles, where the case, the originality of the graphics and harmony of the chosen elements, the connection between graphics, fonts and subject, other elements (spine or cover 4 will not be considered, we only accept the main cover ), and last but not least, the commercial nature of the book.
For the other three prizes, 1st-3rd, the vote is popular. Dreamstime users who have an account on the site will vote and decide the winners of these prizes.
Participants can enter the competition using a section specially created for this contest on the Dreamstime website.

We launch this contest to discover excellent book covers and bring Dreamstime closer to the community of book cover designers in Romania. • September 15 - October 30 - Open for submissions.
• October 15 - October 22 - Voting stage: all entries are displayed online, and the community votes; the jury will choose the special prize winner.
• October 26 - The winners are announced.

Dreamstime editors review all uploaded JPG files before being published on the site in a dedicated gallery.
