Heating and cooling in ceiling, floor and wall – modern technics in refurbishments of ancient monuments: Schloss Solms
For the balance between the value of the basic structure of an old building and the modern living requirements there is a need for forward- looking technical solutions. The BEKA capillary tube mats, fitted in ceiling, wall or floor, are able to combine energy saving and modern comfort in radiant cooling and heating systems. The extra thin and flexible capillary tube mats can be installed even in architectural curves and their minimal panel thickness does not harm the interior. The radiant heating and cooling remains invisible.As a colorful example there is the castle of Solms in Butzbach, Germany. This monumental building of the 15th century was in the past years and decades mainly used as official residence of administration. This year it will be rootedly refurbished. All the unhistorical walls will be removed and the originally open physical structure will be recovered. The BEKA capillary tube mat is the essential key product for the temperature control of the property. About 750 m2 heating and cooling surface is provided by BEKA with capillary tube mats – as cooling ceiling, radiant wall heating and underfloor heating. Installed in plaster and dry construction the capillary tubes will let the old castle glister in modern power balance and ancient splendor. The new use of the technologically high class equipped rooms of Schloss Solms will range from business premises to a dental surgery.

The company BeKa Heiz- und Kühlmatten GmbH was founded in 1996 in Berlin and is currently employing about 30 permanent employees. The medium-sized company is specialised in the production of capillary tube mats made of polypropylene.
