Bring on the water: Stauff industrial filters

For the first time, the German fluid power specialist Stauff will be presenting an independently developed solution for the filtration of industrial water at the Hanover trade fair in April 2013. The SRFL-SW single filter housings have been designed to be used in the steel industry for pre-filtering or coarse filtering in descaling plants.

The SRFL-SW series was developed and designed for direct installation into the pipelines of industrial water cycles. Its connection to the system is done by means of two flange connections in compliance with DIN 2501-PN16 (up to a nominal diameter of DN300) or ANSI B 16.5 (up to up to a nominal diameter of 12 inches). Based on the user's requirements, the housings are either made of stainless steel or corrosion-protected steel. Other materials or special surface treatments are available upon request.

Depending on their size, SRFL-SW filter housings are suitable for nominal flow rates up to 13,000 l/min at a maximum operating pressure of 16 bar. Stainless steel basket screen filters from Stauff's REL product line are used as filter elements, which are designed for flow from the inside to the outside. Micron ratings ranging from 50 to 200 micrometres are available.

Thanks to the service-friendly design of the filter housings, quick and easy filter or replacement of the filter elements is guaranteed. Solid particles collected in the basket are prevented from reaching the clean side of the water cycle when being replaced.

Visual and electrical clogging indicators, the function of which is based on the differential pressure between the contaminated and clean side of the filter elements, are available as an option, and enable a convenient determination of the condition of the basket filter. If needed, a release valve can also be integrated into the filter housing.
