Fleming Gulf's Pipeline Integrity summit takes a global overview

3rd Annual Global Pipeline Integrity Management Summit is the answer to the current challenges facing the onshore pipelines industry.

The integrity of a pipe and all its working components is needed for safe and uninterrupted operation. Pipelines within the oil & gas sector play a major part in the workings of the industry, they form part of the infrastructure to move large quantities of gas, oil and petroleum from source to destination. According to a recent report by AlBawaba, Austrian oil & gas company OMV, part owned by Abu Dhabi, posted a 25 percent jump in revenue in Libya. Despite the constant debate on reserves, major projects are taking place in the oil rich regions of Iran and post the uprising in Libya.

Given the sensitivity of the regions, the integrity management and security of the pipes is really high. The 3rd annual edition of Fleming Gulf's Pipeline Integrity Management Summit will take a global overview of pipeline integrity in the oil & gas sector. The summit will focus on the latest technologies and developments in the past year with an exciting opportunity to explore the latest strategic and technical trends. The summit will look into issues that have impacted pipeline operations on a global scale with a special focus on security and technology on every level of the Pipeline Integrity Management cycle. The 3 day summit, scheduled for the 27th to the 29th May in Abu Dhabi, starts with two pre-event workshops on day one covering a masterclass on the integration of all pipeline integrity aspects and other to cover Pipeline pigging and inspection tools. The following two days will see key topics addressed on regulations across the Middle East and acceptable standards on various Pipeline Integrity Management models.

A key theme this year is the focus on the security aspects and the need to mitigate the risks and threats involved with poor quality infrastructure. Covering topics from cross-border surveillance to stringent inspection protocols, sessions will also see rehabilitation techniques and sustainable approaches towards pipeline integrity. The summit will see representation from leading oil & gas companies, the likes of ADNOC, ADCO, Abu Dhabi Gas Development Company, Petroleum Institute UAE, Qatar Petroleum, Reliance Industries Ltd and many more.
