GreedyGame Organizes the first edition of Mobile App Hackathon; Appicorns

Bengaluru: GreedyGame, a leading app monetization and growth platform, has announced the company's upcoming first edition of Appicorns. The event is a mobile app hackathon for developers looking for funding and development resources to build dream apps.

Hosted in partnership with Reskilll, this hackathon aims to give students and developers a chance to compete against each other to build apps that can become the next great unicorn. The Appicorns bring the opportunity to win prize money worth 2 lakhs. Plus, the selected team will receive a funding opportunity of Rs 1 crore to ideate and develop an app.

The participating team can introduce apps in niches like quizzes, games, photo editing, sports, news and entertainment, utilities, and spirituality. The top 10 apps will be co-published with GreedyGame, and selected teams will get excellent internship opportunities. The winning team will receive Rs 1 lakh, the first runner-up will receive Rs 60 K, and the second runner-up will receive Rs 40 K.

Speaking about the most-awaited hackathon, Arpit Jain, founder and CEO of GreedyGame, said, "Our aim has always been to democratize app growth and its marketing and monetization. Today, there are a lot of budding developers, but they lack a platform that can provide them with all the support they need in terms of marketing, user acquisition, etc. With Appicorns, we want to nurture such app developers and turn their ideas into viable startups."

Voicing a similar opinion, Arpit Chaudhary, CTO of GreedyGame, said, "We want to create an equitable app development ecosystem. A huge segment of developers come up with really impactful apps, but they fail to achieve that growth due to a lack of sustainable avenues to scale them, and we at GreedyGame want to bridge that gap with Appicorns."

Appicorns' panel of judges includes Manish Agarwal, former CEO of Nazara Technologies and Reliance Entertainment; Venus Dhuria, co-founder of Appyhigh; Akhil Sharma, co-founder and CTO of ARMUR; and Prashant Sachan, founder of AppsForBharat.

The hackathon will take place on December 17, 2022, at RV College of Engineering along with its community partners Accelerate (a students' club at RV College of Engineering) and Azure Developer Community.
