ESET Addresses Middle East e-Commerce Boom with Launch of Online Store for Antivirus and IT Security Products
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, 15 April, 2014: E-Commerce is booming in the Middle East and the recent 'Online Shopping Behaviour Study 2013' by MasterCard found that almost 50% of consumers in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar already shop online while consumers in other GCC countries also strongly follow this trend. To engage with this new breed of shoppers and to provide easy and instantaneous access to its comprehensive range of best-in-breed antivirus and IT security solutions, ESET has now launched an online store that will cater to both business and home customers in Bahrain, Egypt, Libya, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, KSA, Kuwait, the UAE, Jordan and Yemen. As a security solutions vendor, the safety and security of its online customers have been marked as top priorities of the online store and ESET has established the e-store in co-operation with CyberSource International, one of the most trusted payment gateways in the region and Network International, a part of the leading banking organization- Emirates NBD. Pradeesh VS, General Manager at ESET Middle East said, “Across the region, the trend towards online shopping is evident and we want our solutions and the associated customer support to be as easily available to our customers as possible. At the same time, we have ensured that we can offer this convenience in the most secure manner by implementing a number of technologies and policies that will best safeguard the privacy of our customers.”
To ensure quick download and trouble-free product registration, ESET has simplified the procurement process. New solution licenses once purchased are sent to users via email while the security software itself can be easily downloaded via the web. The typical size of these 'light' downloads is a mere 1500KB meaning users can be up and running within a matter of minutes.
Through the online store, home users will be able to purchase licenses to ESET's Smart Security 7
and NOD32 Antivirus 7 for Windows based PCs as well as the recently upgraded ESET Cyber Security and ESET Cyber Security PRO for Apple Mac computers. The company's robust offering for mobile device protection, ESET Mobile Security, is also available through the online store.
Advanced solutions for businesses such as endpoint protection, mail security, file security, as well as comprehensive IT security packages for SMBs and enterprises are also available via the same portal. In addition to purchasing new licenses, the online store offers existing ESET users the ability to renew their licenses, increase the size of their subscription, activate licenses and recover lost licenses.
Flexibility and Support
ESET has established a dedicated team that will offer both email and telephonic support exclusively to the company's online customers. These professionals are trained to provide step-by-step assistance and guidance to customers who require support through the online purchase and renewal process. They are also capable of helping customers identify the ESET security product that will best meet their requirements.
Payment and Security
Customers are given the flexibility of paying for their online purchases via Credit and Debit card and can also choose to make the payment through their PayPal account. Though not currently implemented, ESET also intends to accept bank transfers via the portal in the near future. The company has implemented the industry standard SSL security protocol across all the pages on its e-store. In sticking with its commitment to the highest level of security, the security specialist will use sensitive customer information such as card number, expiration date and security code only while processing the transaction and will not retain copies of this data.
“This launch follows our commitment to satisfying our customers to the fullest and providing them with the security they need in order to purchase online. As a security company we understand the critical importance of secure online transactions and we are in a continuous effort to improve ourselves and educate the public in matters related to online transactions and security,” said Pradeesh.
