What is MaaS?

Metaverse as a Service _ MaaS, was all the rage at CES this year, and many people were curious about what it is. To put it simply, MaaS is the concept of servicing a metaverse space as a SaaS. Let's take a look at why SaaS has become the dominant approach in the metaverse industry.

What are the different ways to build a metaverse space?

Until now, there have been three main types of ways to build a metaverse space.

1. Building with a Metaverse Platform

This is a way to build a metaverse space by utilizing an existing metaverse platform.

Some popular metaverse platforms include Roblox, Minecraft, and Second Life. These platforms provide easy ways to create characters, build spaces, and interact with them. Some platforms also offer software development kits (SDKs) to allow external developers to create their own metaverses.

2. Building with 3D rendering tools

Another way to build a metaverse space is to use a 3D rendering tool. Popular 3D rendering tools include Unity and Unreal Engine. These tools allow you to build a more realistic and sophisticated metaverse space. However, they can be relatively expensive to develop.

3. Build with 360 cameras

This method involves using a 360-degree camera to photograph a real-world space and build it into a metaverse space. This method allows you to create a more realistic representation of the actual space. However, it can be somewhat expensive to produce, and it can be difficult to maintain consistency between the real world and the metaverse.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of traditional methods?

Each of the three methods described above has its own advantages and disadvantages.

1. Building with a metaverse platform

* Pros: Users can easily sign up and create their own content, and you can build quickly by utilizing existing content. You can use the various contents and services provided by the platform to reach a larger number of people.

* Cons: It may be difficult to implement the desired content due to limited features. There may be security issues such as user privacy and content copyright. There is a possibility of security issues such as user privacy and content copyright.

2. Build using 3D rendering tools

* Pros: High-quality metaverse can be realized. By using a good 3D rendering engine, you can realize a realistic metaverse that looks like the real world.

* Cons: Can be expensive and time-consuming to develop. 3D rendering tools can be difficult for beginners to use, so it's often necessary to bring in experts.

3. Build with 360 cameras

* Pros: Existing spaces can be easily converted into metaverse spaces by shooting with 360-degree cameras. It provides a high level of realism, so it is widely used in real estate, hotels, exhibitions, etc.

* Cons: The process can be complex and expensive. Unnecessary information may be included in the filming process, and it is not possible to create spaces that do not exist in the real world.

What are the relative strengths of the subscription Metaverse SaaS services?

The common problem with the existing metaverse space creation methods discussed above is that it is a difficult and complex process to create a corporate space. In order to overcome this shortcoming, MaaS, Metaverse as a Service, has emerged. It is a service that allows companies to own a space with a high degree of freedom through a lease method, rather than a space that needs to build a specific platform or enter and utilize a space. In other words, it has been released as a subscription Metaverse SaaS _ service and is receiving great attention in the market. What are its relative strengths?

1. Fast deployment speed

Traditional methods of building metaverse spaces can be expensive and time-consuming to develop. However, as a metaverse space rental service that provides pre-rendered 3D space templates and supports easy integration of various functions, anyone can build a metaverse space in a short time.

2. Low cost

Since development costs and time are low, the cost of building a space can be greatly reduced. In addition, you can use Metaverse space at a lower cost than renting an existing offline space.

3. Many options

We provide 3D space templates for various purposes and styles, so you can choose the design you want. It also allows you to easily integrate various features, so you can customize your Metaverse space to meet your needs.

4. Easy to use

To use Metaverse Space, you don't need to install any apps, just access it with a simple internet browser and select the features you need.

5. Scalability

By offering the service as a subscription SaaS, organizations can scale their Metaverse space as and when they need it. This allows companies to respond to the rapidly changing business environment.

The reasons brands want to go offline are clear

Humans are three-dimensional beings, and instinctively prefer the tangibility of the real world because experiences that appeal to the five senses deliver richer, more enduring brand experiences. But offline reality is expensive. The metaverse is another reality, a virtual reality, that takes the best of the offline world, improves on its shortcomings, and combines the best of the online world.

Therefore, if you open various spaces for your business on the Metaverse, you can expect the following effects.

1. Cost savings

Businesses no longer need to spend a lot of money to rent and build offline spaces. In addition, metaverse spaces can be preserved semi-permanently if desired without having to worry about demolition. This is also beneficial from an ESG perspective.

2. Flexibility

Compared to brick-and-mortar, metaverse spaces can be quickly scaled, transformed, and utilized in a variety of ways to meet your needs. You can select and apply the features you need from pre-made 3D templates, which allows you to flexibly utilize the space according to business purposes.

3. User communication and data utilization

The Metaverse space supports various functions such as video chat, AI human, bulletin board, PDF, image viewer, and video playback, so users can freely share information and interact. This means that it not only complements the communication methods provided in the offline space, but also accumulates data on the preferred content of general users and can be utilized for real business.

4. Eliminate time and space constraints

Users can enter the space anytime, anywhere, without time and space constraints. When companies plan and organize various events such as product launches, pop-up stores, and exhibitions, they can overcome time and space constraints while making it convenient for participants to participate.

We've just discussed some of the benefits of using Metaverse as a SaaS service.

There's a common misconception that metaverses can only be utilized on certain platforms, and Meta, ZEPETO, and Roblox have played a big role in reinforcing that notion. However, a metaverse cannot succeed as a closed service utilized on a specific platform.

Metaverses need to be based on a realistic immersive experience, but they also need to be able to connect with the various homepages, social channels, and offline spaces of existing companies in order to be more useful and maximize the attractiveness of the space.

As in the early days of the Internet, the market for companies to build their own services at great expense has disappeared, and SaaS services have become the norm. The era of performance marketing, in which companies pour marketing dollars into creating channels and driving traffic on global social platforms, has also begun to question its effectiveness.

If you believe that a content strategy centered on your own channels is the right way to go, consider starting a Metaverse SaaS service that allows you to select the right Metaverse space for your business purposes with just a few clicks, add only the features you want, and rent it for a reasonable period of time.

You will be able to create great synergies in user interaction by connecting the abstract metaverse to a working metaverse.
For those who are thinking about it, I recommend ELYPECS (www.elypecs.com).
You don't need a VR headset or specialized hardware to access it, just a browser, and you can interact with customers via YouTube Live or video chat. For a few hundred dollars a month, you can create a realistic 3D brand experience that will make your company stand out from the crowd.

Since 2015, Olimplanet has accumulated metaverse spaces and 3D data while building a culture and training program for 3D creators. This has allowed us to provide metaverse services to more than 20,000 metaverse spaces, 120,000 3D data, and 5,000 enterprises. These accumulated assets can be a significant asset for a metaverse as a service (MaaS) platform.

ELYPECS is making it easy for anyone to experience the metaverse while maintaining the immersive nature of the metaverse. Through ELYPECS, we have launched a 360 tour service with 3D data packaging, standardization technology, and 3D modeling extraction, which has been very well received in the construction real estate market. We have also been able to introduce a metaverse showroom, "Bispoke Homemeta," which was not possible within the Samsung Group, a global big tech company, through ELYPECS.

Through the C2E (Create to earn) marketplace, Olimplanet plans to create a platform where anyone can easily create and create Metaverse spaces, freely trade them, and receive fair compensation for their creation. In addition, we are creating added value by forming an ecosystem with various AI/NFT/blockchain companies, and we are aiming for an open ecosystem that provides core infrastructure centered on Metaverse spaces.
