Open Source Backup Conference on Bareos 2014 two days long for the first time

The OSBConf – originally named “Bacula Conference”—takes place in the Rhine city every year since 2009. The leading conference on backup took place on two days for the first time this year on September 22nd and 23rd. The conference was organized by NETWAYS Event Services GmbH, specialized in open source IT events, in cooperation with dass IT GmbH.
Among others, there were talks from Marco van Wieringen (Bacula), Martin Gerhard Loschwitz (hastexo), Dave Simons (Inuits) and the Bareos managing directors Maik Außendorf and Stephan Dühr.
In addition to the talks, workshops and hands-on trainings were offered on the first day of the event.
With 60 guests from seven countries, the organizers could realize a new visitor record and want to expand internationally within the next years.
In 2015 the Open Source Backup Conference on Bacula will take place on September 29th and 30th in Cologne. The application for giving a talk is open on the events site already at http://osbconf.org/call-for-speakers/.
