bitumen 60/70

What is Bitumen 60/70?
Bitumen 60/70 means penetration of bitumen is between 60 to 70 0.mm. It is produced by blowing hot air onto vacuum bottom residue, resulting in a penetration value of 160 to 220, making it very soft. Heating the raw material can increase its hardness and decrease penetration. This type of bitumen is commonly used in road construction, paving, waterproofing, and coating.

Differences of bitumen 60/70 with bitumen 80/100
Bitumen 60/70 has penetration between 60 to 70 while bitumen 80/100 has penetration between 80 to 100 and softening point of 60/70 is 48 to 52 while 80/100 is

How to Buy High-Quality Bitumen 60/70?
Assessing the quality of bitumen involves various checks, but after confirming the penetration value, a simple test can help determine its quality:

Odor: A lesser smell indicates lower sulfur content, as some may add sulfur to increase weight.
Viscosity: Ensure the viscosity falls within the specified range. Using vacuum resin instead of vacuum bottom can affect quality.
Spot Test: It should yield a negative result, as some factories heat bitumen directly, leading to burning.
Softening Point and Penetration: 60/70 has a softening point between 48 to 52°C and a penetration value between 60 to 70, making it highly viscous compared to other grades.
Ductility of Bitumen 60/70
To enhance ductility at low temperatures, sulfur (3-7% by weight) can be added to hot-mixed asphalt. Small amounts of rubber can further increase ductility. Extender oil is recommended, available in various viscosities (10, 20, and 30-40).

Viscosity of Bitumen 60/70
The viscosity of bitumen 60/70 falls within the range of 1600 to 2400. It measures the resistance to flow, affecting deformation resistance. Wax content directly impacts viscosity, making lower wax content preferable for easier asphalt work.

Choosing a Bitumen Factory
There are four types of bitumen factories, each with varying investment costs and quality:

Continuous Production: Offers the highest quality but comes at a higher price.
Batching Type with Hot Oil Circulation Heating: May not pass TFOT test.
Batching Factory with Direct Heating: Prone to burning and molecular chain changes.
Blending Type: Has problems with viscosity and high wax content, making it challenging to use in asphalt.
Packing of Bitumen
We have various type of Bitumen packing including drums (150 kg, 180 kg, 200/210 kg), jumbo bags (300 kg, 380 kg, 1000 kg), metal tin cans, bitutainers (22 MT), bulk vessels (1500 MT to 70000 MT), and truck tankers (22 to 26 MT with heating elements).

Guaranty/Warranty of Bitumen
Quality is guaranteed through international inspectors, quality control batch tests, and compliance with ASTM/EN 12591 standards.
