Press release from: Life Line Foundation Rehabilitation Center

Nasha Mukti Kendra, Based in Punjab, Seeks to Provide

Quality and certified addiction rehabilitation centres are few and far between in India. Established in 2011, Life line foundation of the Nasha Mukti Kendra in Ludhiana sets out to make a true impact through systematic approaches for de-addiction. Life Line Foundation is a Punjab government-certified rehab centre that is making a difference in the lives of many.

Addiction to alcohol, drugs, mobile phones, and depression requires close attention and empathy from patients for successful treatment. That is what Life Line Foundation of Nasha Mukti Kendra seeks to achieve through a combination of traditional and modern methods. By using Yoga, meditation, psychiatric and allopathic interventions, it formulates an effective treatment regimen that helps its clients return to normal life.

According to WHO, there are more than 300 million alcoholics globally. In India, it is estimated that there are 60 million alcoholics alone. Unlike physical medical conditions, addiction and substance abuse do not receive close attention. But they're one of the major causes of family disturbances, poverty, job loss, reputation loss, spiralling debts and unending suicides. It is plaguing the country insidiously and impacting the larger economy. That is why Nasha Mukti Kendra has come forward to alleviate the growing menace by using effective methods within a promised timeline.

They believe that every individual requires a tailored approach for de-addiction treatment. After evaluating the people one by one, they undergo the time-tested 12-step addiction treatment to rehabilitate people back to their normal lives.

1. Admit powerlessness over addiction.
2. Believe in a greater power for restoration.
3. Decide to turn will and life over to this greater power.
4. Make a moral inventory of oneself.
5. Admit to the greater power, oneself, and another the nature of wrongs.
6. Prepare for the greater power to remove character defects.
7. Humbly ask for the removal of shortcomings.
8. List all persons harmed and be willing to make amends.
9. Make direct amends wherever possible.
10. Continue personal inventory and admit wrongs.
11. Seek through prayer and meditation to improve spiritual connection.
12. Experience a spiritual awakening and share this message with others.

Lifeline foundation uses the below methodology to execute the 12 steps above.

Assessment and Evaluation: Thorough assessment by medical professionals to determine the severity of addiction, any chronic mental disorders and physical health issues that the patient has.

Detoxification: For individuals with drug and alcohol abuse, detoxification is affected by clearing the body of the substances. The medical professionals will manage the withdrawal symptoms with continuous supervision and support.

Potent Treatment Regimen: The government-approved treatment involves Exercises, Counselling, Meditation, Yoga, and psychiatric and behaviour therapy Sessions.

Family Therapy: While individual therapy is required, Nasha Mukti Kendra mandates the involvement of family members at a certain stage of the treatment process for long-term results. Improving communication, addressing family dynamics, and providing continuous education about managing addictions are provided.

Aftercare: As the residential program comes to an end, counselor will plan an aftercare program. They may suggest participation in groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA), vocational training, self-care, life skills, housing assistance, and relapse prevention strategies while continuing the ongoing therapy.
