Health During Public Health Emergencies: Rationale for Public Health/Private

Employers' influence in communities stretches from access to preventive healthcare for their employees to health outcomes, policies, and broader social determinants of health.
This commentary describes 5 domains of employer impact to individual and community health during emergencies and recommendations for public health official engagement. These include the impacts and influences an employer has such as a company's products and services, providing the majority of health insurance coverage in the U.S., worksite services, policies, and procedures, influence on employee health, and their effects on the community during a public health emergency.
