About the Author

In 1968, at the height of the Vietnam War, Al joined the United States Marine Corps. He served with India Company 3rd Battalion 7th Marine Regiment 1st Marine Division as a fire-team leader and radioman. When he returned to the States, he continued his service to his beloved county as a Los Angeles Police officer. At the outset, Al demonstrated a natural street prowess in sensing criminal behavior, resulting in high-quality arrests and convictions.
