How to do rust prevention for steel bars?
Usually, steel can withstand rain, sun, wind and rain, but these factors often cause steel to rust earlier. So how can we do the best surface rust prevention for iron? Steel rust prevention water is an ideal product for short-term rust prevention of steel between processes. It can form a dense and transparent passivation film on the surface of steel, thereby slowing down the corrosion rate of corrosive media on metals. The formed passivation film will not affect the general.
Usage
The steel rust prevention stock solution and water are mixed in a tank, and then the processed, degreased and rust-free steel parts with water film are immersed in the tank. After the parts are taken out, they should be dried as soon as possible. The dried parts should be stored in a ventilated and dry room. At the same time, they should be protected from erosion by human sweat, high temperature, corrosive gases, etc. to ensure the best rust prevention effect.
1. Protection of column steel cage
(1) The steel cage that has been tied or hoisted should be covered with plastic film in time to prevent impurities from entering and rain. According to the actual progress of the project, if the steel cage is expected to be placed for more than 15 days, the surface of the processed steel cage should be coated with rust inhibitor or cement slurry.
(2) For areas with severe rust, it is necessary to clean them before pouring concrete. Wire brushes and related tools can be used to clean the rusted parts and impurities on the surface of the steel bars. After the steel bars are exposed to their original metal color, concrete can be poured.
2. Rust protection of formwork
Steel formwork should pay attention to daily maintenance and rust protection to avoid excessive rust due to long-term placement, which will damage the smooth surface of the formwork and affect the appearance quality of the concrete.
(1) Steel formwork should be stored and stacked according to specifications, and should be stacked neatly. They should not be placed randomly.
(2) Steel formwork should be stored indoors as much as possible, or placed in a shed on site. When stored outdoors, canvas or other protective facilities should be used to cover it to prevent rust.
(3) Before using the steel formwork, use a wire brush to carefully polish and remove rust. If the rust is severe, it is recommended to use cement mortar to prime and remove rust 2 to 3 times before polishing with a wire brush.
(4) If the steel formwork is idle for a long time, during the storage period, if necessary, anti-rust oil can be applied to the surface of the formwork in contact with the concrete. If the paint on the back is partially peeled off, it should be repainted.
3. Anti-pollution protection of the appearance after concrete pouring
(1) Anti-rust protection of exposed steel bar heads
Measures should be taken to prevent rust from flowing down with the curing water and affecting the appearance of the structure. Cement slurry can be mixed and applied to the exposed steel bar parts to prevent rust from flowing down and polluting.
(2) Other anti-pollution protection of structures
After the structure is poured, corresponding measures should be taken during the curing process, such as using clean curing cloth, prohibiting the use of black cotton, and using clean curing water to minimize appearance pollution.
