Redfox.bz Down Since June 5th, AnyStream (AnyStream Plus) and AnyDVD (CloneDVD) Software not Working without Any Sign of Recovery,
SlySoft, previously known for AnyDVD, ceased operations in February 2016 due to pressure from AACS. However, it resurfaced under the name RedFox after some break.
RedFox (official website: redfox.bz), developed by the SlySoft Software Company, offers the same Windows-based program catering to users seeking to copy and rip DVDs, HD DVDs, and Blu-ray Discs. AnyDVD, the software, continues to operate under this new brand.
RedFox Shuts Down Again After Eight Years in June of 2024, Shrouded in Mystery
In 2016, SlySoft abruptly ceased operations, sending shockwaves through its global user base and the industry at large. 8 years later in 2024, RedFox, which had emerged as its successor, has now shut down once again on 5th June, sparking widespread curiosity and speculation. However, no detailed explanation was provided officially, leading to a flurry of rumors in AnyStream's reddit community, though not official community run by RedFox team.
Some speculated that SlySoft had succumbed to legal pressures like what happened in 2016, while others believed internet server host issues were the issue, and even some speculate that the RedFox team has sold their technical package to other top competitors like DVDFab. Despite the numerous theories, the silence from the official channels left these speculations unconfirmed.
Many users have attempted to reach out to RedFox to uncover the truth, but so far, no responses have been forthcoming. The recent closure of RedFox has reignited interest in the true reasons behind these events. Was it legal challenges, internal problems, or some other unknown factors at play? These questions remain unanswered, adding to the intrigue.
AnyStream Users React to RedFox Shutdown
Following the sudden shutdown of RedFox, the developer of AnyStream, users have expressed a range of reactions.
A significant portion of the AnyStream user community has voiced their frustration and disappointment over the unexpected closure. "This is a huge blow," one user commented. "AnyStream has been an essential tool for me, and now I'm left without a reliable alternative." However some of them also expressed they would go for StreamFab as an alternative tool.
On the other hand, another group of users has shown support and willingness to assist and donate to the AnyStream team in restoring the service.
A user from AnyStream's unofficial Reddit community. "I know RedFox has never publicized their internal problems (which I totally understand), but if they're having issues because of money (i.e., dead server and out of money), I wish they'd reach out. I'd happily donate. I've been using their software almost from SlySoft's inception and I feel like I've gotten more than my money's worth."
Some loyalty users of AnyStream highlight their hope that the team can overcome these challenges and continue providing valuable services.
How other Company like DVDFab/StreamFab Responding?
In light of RedFox's sudden shutdown, DVDFab and StreamFab, one of RedFox's AnyStream and AnyDVD primary competitors, has been closely monitoring the situation. The forum administrator DVDFab commented, "We are aware of the recent developments with RedFox and are following the incident closely. Our priority remains to provide uninterrupted service and support to our users."
As the industry reacts to RedFox's unexpected exit, DVDFab and StreamFab are positioning themselves as a stable and sound provider for the users in the same industry. DVDFab has reassured its customer base with a new version release for its software StreamFab that their services will continue to operate smoothly, and expressed their appreciation for users in the face of industry changes. For RedFox users who may be seeking alternatives, DVDFab/StreamFab might be a robust alternative solution.
