Earthquake 7.3 magnitude in Port Vila - An emotional Interview

At 12:47 p.m. on December 17, 2024, a 7.3 magnitude earthquake struck Port Vila in the South Pacific archipelago of Vanuatu. The power and all communications were cut off shortly after the event. But somehow, Pro Rescue learned that a building in the Port Vila center had fallen, trapping people within. Seven persons were rescued from Pro rescue from beneath the rubble with the assistance of the police and Vanuatu Mobile Force, as well as other members of the public. Troy Spann from Pro Rescue gave this moving account on video of how he and his team were able to save lives over the course of the 27 hours following the tragedy.

Land Search and Urban Search and Rescue (USAR)
ProRescue is largely based on Australian SES (State Emergency Service).
