Say hello to EinkWise, the reimagined evolution of the E Ink Center. This dynamic feature introduces preset display themes that effortlessly blend refresh modes, color settings, and layouts. EinkWise also offers switchable front light modes, allowing seamless transitions to suit any environment or activity.
Enhanced Reading with NeoReader
The BOOX NeoReader app takes reading to the next level with a customizable Annotation Toolbar, letting users tailor the icons to their preferences. A new Reading Status Bar now includes a Reading Time Estimate, providing a handy projection of time needed to complete a session. Users can also personalize the display of battery level, chapter titles, and page numbers for a tailored reading experience.
Streamlined PDF Reading
For PDF enthusiasts, Firmware V4.1 simplifies the reading experience with five preset themes: Original, Clear View, Scrolling View, Dual-Page View, and Customize. Each theme applies optimized zoom, reflow, contrast, and margin settings in one step. The new Crop OCR feature enhances the existing OCR function, allowing users to extract text from specific areas with ease.
Smarter Book and Note Management
Book management gets a significant upgrade with cloud syncing for source files, including notes, highlights, and annotations. Files under 200 MB can be uploaded and accessed across BOOX devices with a single sign-in. For offline users, the Local Library Backup feature creates a ".booxc" archive, preserving book files, annotations, and themes, which can be transferred and restored on another BOOX device running Firmware V4.1 or later.
The Notes app introduces Infinite Notes, which automatically expands as handwriting reaches the page's edge, with Pins for quick navigation between sections. A customizable Note ToolBox lets users switch between tool presets for tasks like meetings or journaling. The Lasso Tool is now a floating toolbar, making it easier to move, resize, or edit selected content. Two new pen types, Calligraphy and Fountain, add a creative flair to note-taking.
Availability
Firmware V4.1 is rolling out to select BOOX ePaper devices, including Note Max, Note Air4 C, and Palma 2. Users can manually check for updates or await system notifications for other compatible devices.
