MAUSER, NCG and Janus Vaten open new production facilities

Bruehl/Germany, March 28, 2017

MAUSER Group has opened new IBC production and reconditioning facilities together with its subsidiary National Container Group (NCG), its joint venture partner Janus Vaten B.V. and customers at its French site of St Priest.

On February 23, numerous regional and international customers followed the invitation to an exciting day at the location near Lyon. Dr. Jürgen Scherer and Ernest van den Boogerd, the heads of the business units of MAUSER and NCG in Europe, welcomed the participants and particularly emphasized the partnership and increasing business with many customers in the Rhône Valley and the South of France, which was one of the reasons for the expansion of the site. Adrien Defrance and Aurélien Naye, the responsible sales managers for France and neighboring countries in Southern Europe, also agreed: "We are proud of the global business approach by MAUSER and NCG, but we also still see ourselves as a local partner who knows the region, identifies with it and speaks the language of the customers. Since 1968, our factory has been producing steel drums for the chemical, petrochemical, agrochemical and food industry."

After the introduction, Frédéric Binard, head of MAUSER's production sites in Southern Europe, led through the various presentations. It became evident that with the expansion of the site in the Rhône-Alpes region, MAUSER is able to provide its customers with a comprehensive offering of industrial packaging. "Our range of steel and plastic drums as well as IBCs is unique in the region and the location here is the ideal addition to our production sites in the North of France, in Italy and Spain," he explained. "Our clear goal is to be close to the customer and to further increase the flexibility in customer service and supply reliability."

This offer is complemented perfectly by MAUSER’s subsidiary NCG and its focus on sustainable services for reconditioning of industrial packaging. "With the opening of the new site we are adding the 15th location in the EMEA region and increasing our worldwide presence to 43 sites," explained Ernest van den Boogerd.
The NCG site in St Priest is directly connected to the new Mauser IBC production factory, thus eliminating the need for road transport of IBC bottles. Two buildings contain a semi-automatic washing line for IBCs made out of stainless steel, as well as a rebottling line for assembly of rebottled IBCs. The site has all necessary equipment for handling residues, repair facilities and in-line testing of reconditioned IBCs.

"The site in the South of France is a logical extension of our existing joint venture for reconditioning services with MAUSER in the North of France. We are looking forward to extend the growth and success we had in France over the recent years," added Pim Janus, General Manager of Janus Vaten B.V.

After a comprehensive overview of the MAUSER production plants in France, experts from the MAUSER product development and sales department presented the latest innovations. A concept study for "high-barrier IBC", which combines excellent product protection with easy recycling and reconditioning, was very well received by the auditorium. Furthermore, the MAUSER SM13 EX UL IBC was presented, which is currently the only composite IBC to fulfill UL 2368 regulations for highly flammable liquids. "Our UL-IBC offers our customers around the world the possibility to continue using composite IBCs for these products," concluded Dr. Urs Geisel, Head of Sales at MAUSER Europe.

During the concluding plant tour, the customers were able to experience the MAUSER product portfolio. They were impressed by the fast realization of this plant expansion, which only took a few months, and the enthusiasm of the MAUSER team in St Priest.
