Press release from: Guntermann & Drunck GmbH

Guntermann & Drunck at IBC

The German KVM manufacturer Guntermann & Drunck announces its participation in the broadcast exhibition IBC. The exhibition takes place in Amsterdam from 12 to 16 September 2008.
Guntermann & Drunck presents KVM Extenders and Switches for all broadcasting areas from studio to server room and outside broadcast up to the OB van.

With the multi platform KVM Extenders, noisy and distracting computers are moved out of sensitive environments like studios or post production areas. Expensive computer equipment is stored in an air-conditioned and access-secured plant room while the host, director and digital media designer accesses his computer from the studio that can be up to 10,000 m away from the computer.
According to the existing peripherals, the KVM Extenders can transmit the signals for keyboard, video (DVI + VGA), mouse, audio, RS232 and USB. It is also possible to transmit multiple video. The Extenders support analog resolutions up to 1920 x 1440 @ 75 Hz as well as digital resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz. Broadcast special keyboards are integrated into the operational concept. To bridge the distance between user and computer, KVM Extenders use the existing standard CAT or fibre optics cabling.

With KVM Switches and Matrix switches, several computers can be operated and administraded by one or more user consoles e.g. in plant rooms or for enabling simultaneous access of multiple users to the computer-aided inventory in OB vans.
G&D's IP solutions extend the range of use as well as they enable computer access also over Ethernet down to BIOS level. Even when the presenter is on air, if necessary, the technician can maintain the computer from the plant room, his office or from any other user console in the network.
Outside broadcast combines these different KVM technologies and transmits the operating concept of the Extenders and Switches to the "mobile studio".

With its products, Guntermann & Drunck serves almost all broadcast stations ruled under public law, as well as numerous private ones. When preparing, generating, producing, storing and transmitting computer-aided AV contents, TV stations as well as broadcast system houses trust the solutions of G&D.
