Application of MBBR process in sewage treatment reformation
MBBR (Moving Bed Bioreactor) is a technology used for sewage treatment. It uses floating plastic media to provide a biofilm growth surface in the reactor, which enhances the degradation efficiency of organic matter in sewage by increasing the contact area and activity of microorganisms, and is suitable for treating high-concentration organic wastewater.The MBBR system consists of a reactor (usually a cylindrical or rectangular tank) and a set of floating plastic media. These plastic media are usually lightweight materials with high specific surface area that can float freely in water. These plastic media move freely in the reactor and provide a large surface for microorganisms to attach. The high specific surface area and special design of the media allow more microorganisms to attach to its surface to form a biofilm. Microorganisms grow on the surface of the plastic media to form a biofilm. This film is composed of bacteria, fungi and other microorganisms that can effectively degrade organic matter in sewage. The thickness and activity of the biofilm determine the efficiency of sewage treatment.
By optimizing the growth conditions of microorganisms, the efficiency of sewage treatment is improved, which is an important technical means in modern sewage treatment projects.
Influent stage: Untreated sewage is fed into the reactor. Reaction stage: In the reactor, the sewage is fully mixed with the floating plastic media, and the organic matter in the sewage is degraded by the microorganisms in the biofilm. Sludge removal: The treated sewage flows out of the reactor, and some microorganisms and sludge are discharged with it, and part of the biofilm is removed to maintain the normal operation of the system. Effluent stage: The treated sewage is discharged into the environment or further treated after sedimentation or filtration.
